- International Master-India. Elo FIDE 2.517
- Praggnanandhaa is a very young (12 years old) chess player born in Chennai (former Madras), Tamil Nadu, India.
- "Prag" won the men’s Under-8 World Championship title in 2013, and the men's Under-10 in 2015. That is to say, in his short career he has already achieved two world titles in his category.
In 2016, he became the youngest International Chess Master in the history of this game, at the age of 10 years, 10 months and 19 days. It is quite possible that when Prag arrives in Leon in 2018 he will be in possession of the youngest Grand Master title in the history of chess.
In 2017 the very young Indian master finished third in the Under-20 world championship, where his main rivals were 8 years older than him and many of them held the title of Grand Master.
The Leon Magistral tournament has bet from its beginnings to give opportunities to the most talented young people in the world. We can remember the participation in Leon, at 14 years of age, of the current world champion, the Norwegian Magnus Carlsen. Also the last contender for the world title, the Russian Sergey Karjakin, played in León being only 13 years old, and previously others, like Peter Leko, caused a sensation by their chess precocity in our city, but in 2018 we will see a boy, of only 12 years of age, face consecrated stars of the world elite like Wesley So or Paco Vallejo.
A bet of the Magistral for a player that seems destined to the highest peaks of the world chess and whom we will be able to see in action in Leon 2018.
